If you could live anywhere in the World, where would it be, and why?The world is such a large place, full of mysteries and wonderful encounters, but due to restrictions I think the first place that comes to mind is home?
It sounds like a Dorothy line from Oz, but its true; where it begins is where it returns. I know that, Dorothy knew this although I know nothing about Kansas but the thing is do they know that?
The Isle of Man has some great beaches, that's where I was born, the beaches are clean from man made rubbish, although you do find the odd jellyfish and strings of podded seaweed, but all an all they are litter free.
Being an Island an all, the Isle of Man is surrounded by beaches, the population is very low but there exists a tight community throughout the Island. This opens room for reliable beach cleaning, not just from the local boroughs who collect the rubbish, but also the community 'beach cleaners'.
There's green everywhere, the roads are sometimes free from traffic, my folks live there too.
I went back there this month, I currently live in London, now London is a spectacular city and I am always discovering new desirable areas to frequent, but its busy, not as busy as New York or Delhi but its busy enough. The roads have many traffic lights that are often red and there is lots of construction going on right now, due to the upcoming Olympics.
The grass is always greener perhaps, but the nostalgia of going back to the comforts of childhood happy memories was just to true too be overlooked. I love walking, especially walking cool dogs. The idea of creating a Trash Robot in the kitchen is perhaps from the effect a large city has on a small country boy. The truth is rubbish is mounting up all over the world, yet time and time again I read stories about local people finding new solutions and keeping there favorite places clean and tidy.
The best place though for one to live is home and by having a nice and tidy home, I think this is the best place any of us could live. I am just trying to find some common denominators here.
Which raises another interesting topic about friends, with are often drawn back to the places where friends and family reside, and I feel no different on this matter.
Its nice just to look at a landscape you fundamentally recognize, and the locals speak and understand all the slang and even some of the mumbling.
If you want to see how lovely it is, I recorded a video for you of me and Tess walking up Bradda. Bradda has a great view point of Port Erin (south of the Island). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0bPulrungmQ
